Spirit Station Pier is located right on the water’s edge in Port Melbourne, overlooking Hobson’s Bay. We have compiled some important information you might like to note when visiting.
The pier itself is open to the public (pedestrian access only) throughout the year during daylight hours. This is excepting on cruise ship days, when the pier is at its busiest (due to customs, quarantine, immigration, security and baggage handling activities). On these days, Spirit Station Pier is a popular place to come and view the cruise ships from.
Please note: the main cruise season in Melbourne runs from November to April.
There is no public parking available on the pier, however, there are a limited number of short-term car parks available in the Waterfront Place precinct, which immediately adjoins the pier. Charges do apply.
The best way to get to the pier is via a tram (Route 109) from the city centre. For more information on times and fares, please visit the Public Transport Victoria website. A taxi service is also available.
